    The Kelly plug valve produced and sold by our company Huichi Petro is referred to as "plug", which is an important blowout prevention tool in drilling tools. The one installed at the upper end of the Kelly is called the Kelly upper plug, and the one installed at the lower end of the Kelly is called the Kelly lower plug. Use a special wrench to turn the valve core to open and close the plug valve. The plug valve is a manual control valve for opening and closing the pipe circulation system. It is normally used for well repair operations. When overflow or blowout occurs, close the Kelly plug valve, cut off the channel in the drilling tool, and quickly close the liquid circulating in the pipe string to achieve the purpose of preventing blowout in the drilling tool.

    The plug valve consists of a housing, upper and lower valve seats, a ball, a rotary switch, a sealing ring, a spring and a compression cap. It is opened and closed by rotating the inner hexagon of the outer surface to correspond to the markings on and off.

    Kelly plug valves can be divided into: Kelly upper plug valve (referred to as upper plug) and Kelly lower plug valve (referred to as lower plug) according to their installation position in the drill string assembly.

    The Kelly upper plug is installed between the lower end of the faucet and the upper end of the Kelly. The upper connection is an internal thread (female buckle), the lower connection is an external thread (male buckle), and the left-hand thread (reverse buckle) is used for connection.

    The Kelly lower plug is connected between the lower end of the Kelly and the drill string. The upper internal connection is an internal thread, the lower connection is an external thread, and the right-hand thread (positive buckle) is used for connection.
