Structural composition:

The gate blowout preventer produced and sold by our company Huichi petro is mainly composed of shell, gate assembly, piston and piston rod, hydraulic control system and other parts.

• Shell: Cast with high-strength alloy steel, the material performance fully meets the requirements of API 16A and NACE MRO175-94. It has good pressure resistance, impact resistance and corrosion resistance, and can withstand the high pressure and complex working conditions of the wellhead during drilling operations.

• Gate assembly: It is the core sealing component of the gate blowout preventer, generally composed of gate body, rubber core, etc. The sealing surface of the gate cavity is treated with surface chemical treatment to improve the surface hardness, increase wear resistance, prevent scratches by the gate body, and increase the sealing reliability of the gate. The gate body has different shapes and sizes according to different usage requirements, such as full-closed gate, semi-closed gate, variable-diameter gate, etc. The rubber core is installed on the gate body to achieve the sealing function.

• Piston and piston rod: The piston is connected to the piston rod and is located in the inner cavity of the shell. The piston rod is treated with surface anti-corrosion and wear resistance, which can fully bear the weight after the cylinder head is opened, reduce the droop when opening, and ensure flexible switching. Under the action of hydraulic oil, the piston drives the piston rod to reciprocate, thereby driving the gate assembly to open and close.

• Hydraulic control system: including hydraulic pipelines, control valves, accumulators, etc. Its function is to provide a power source for the gate blowout preventer, and to achieve precise control of the gate assembly by controlling the flow direction and pressure of the hydraulic oil.

Working principle:

• Closing principle: When the gate blowout preventer needs to be closed, the hydraulic control system delivers high-pressure hydraulic oil to the piston chamber, pushes the piston to drive the piston rod to move toward the center of the wellhead, and makes the gate assembly move toward the center along the guide groove of the shell until the gate rubber core fits tightly against the drill pipe or wellhead to achieve sealing.

• Opening principle: When the gate blowout preventer needs to be opened, the hydraulic control system changes the flow direction of the hydraulic oil, discharges the hydraulic oil in the piston chamber, and the piston drives the piston rod to move in the opposite direction under the action of the return spring or reverse hydraulic oil, so that the gate assembly returns to the initial position and the wellhead is opened.

• Well control safety guarantee: During drilling, well repair, oil testing, etc., once the pressure in the well rises abnormally, the gate blowout preventer can be quickly closed to effectively seal the wellhead annular space or fully seal the wellhead to prevent the high-pressure oil, gas, water and other fluids in the well from spraying out, ensuring the life safety of drilling operators and equipment safety, and preventing environmental pollution. In order to effectively control the formation pressure, it can be used in conjunction with well killing and throttling manifolds to achieve balanced pressure drilling.

• Adapt to a variety of working conditions: According to different drilling operation requirements, different types of gates can be selected for installation. For example, the semi-closed gate can seal the wellhead annular space when there is a drilling tool; the fully closed gate can completely close the wellhead when there is no drilling tool; the variable-diameter gate can adapt to different sizes of drilling tool combinations, which improves the versatility and adaptability of the equipment.

• Assisting special operations: In some special drilling operations, such as forced drilling and well pressure operations, the gate blowout preventer can be used in conjunction with other well control equipment to provide reliable wellhead sealing and ensure the smooth progress of the operation. When there is no drilling tool in the well, the fully closed gate can be used to seal the empty well.
