    Casing scrapers are used to remove cement, mud, embedded bullets, rust, mill scale, paraffin, perforation burrs and other substances from the inner wall of the casing to allow unimpeded entry of various downhole tools. Using scrapers can improve the success rate of tool entry and completion of operations. When it is necessary to scrape and clean the casing, just rotate or do not rotate the scraper. To check the smoothness of the perforated section, pass the scraper through the section without rotating. If the weight indicator does not show any irregularities, the casing is clean. Maintaining a clean casing ID is important for the operation of all tools used in drilling. Adhesive materials on the casing wall often make these tools difficult to operate.

Precautions when using the scraper:

  1. Before the casing scraper is drilled into the well, the acceleration torque of the drill bit must be the same as the acceleration torque of the running pipeline.

  2. Before entering the well, check whether the type of casing scraper meets the casing specifications; whether the blade is worn; whether the screws are tightened.

  3. Protect personal safety during use to prevent injuries, damage and other accidental injuries.

  4. When the indicator weight meter does not change, that is, the hanging weight does not drop when it is lowered and does not rise when it is lifted, it means that the scraping is clean.

Precautions after using the scraper:

  1. Remove mud and disassemble the required scraper into parts.

  2. Check the condition of the housing, spring, and blade, whether the outer diameter and length of the joint meet the specified requirements, and perform non-destructive testing of the thread.

  3. Deformation and damage of the joint thread, housing, etc., replace damaged and deformed parts.

  4. After oiling the threads and parts of each part, reassemble them, check whether the outer diameter of the blade reaches the requirements of the table, whether the blade can be retracted freely, and the return spring is strong.

  5. Paint the exterior, apply anti-rust oil to the threads and wear thread protectors, and store in a dry and ventilated place.
